چکیده

A 90-year-old woman presented with a multimodal (face and voice) person recognition disorder. Although she had moderate general cognitive impairment, her visual capacity, other than face recognition, was well preserved. She could identify the faces voices of family members but not recall names relatives whom met infrequently, famous individuals, or medical staff. remember first some information about prominent individuals when supplied their surnames. Therefore, we thought that person-specific semantic memory intact unable to access it through voices. MRI revealed predominantly right-sided bilateral anterior temporal lobe hippocampal atrophy. SPECT images showed decreased blood flow in lobes inferior parietal lobule (heavily right-sided), right posterior cingulate gyrus, precuneus. Progressive disorder prosopagnosia has been considered variant frontotemporal lobar degeneration because abnormal behaviors psychiatric symptoms frequently coexist. However, no such were observed this case, therefore suspected dementia Alzheimer type.

A voice verifier for face/voice based person verification system

A person verification system based on voice and facial images has been developed within CSIRO Telecommunications and Industrial Physics, Australia, for use in low-to-medium security systems. It provides a unique ID, which is non-intrusive, fast, and has no need for memorising passwords. A stand-alone version of the voice verifier has an error rate of less than 8%, while the face verifier has an...

Integration of Face and Voice Recognition

cepstral features and features based on a bio–mechanical model of the visible articulators will be the identity–carrying characteristics extracted from acoustic speech and visual speech respectively. Speakers will be modelled by multi–layer perceptrons trained as discriminative models or, alternatively, as predictive models. In the discriminative modelling scheme, each speaker model will be tra...

Emotion recognition from expressions in face, voice, and body: the Multimodal Emotion Recognition Test (MERT).

Emotion recognition ability has been identified as a central component of emotional competence. We describe the development of an instrument that objectively measures this ability on the basis of actor portrayals of dynamic expressions of 10 emotions (2 variants each for 5 emotion families), operationalized as recognition accuracy in 4 presentation modes combining the visual and auditory sense ...

On the fusion of prosody, voice spectrum and face features for multimodal person verification

Multimodal person recognition systems normally use shortterm spectral features as voice information. In this paper prosodic information is added to a system based on face and voice spectrum features. By using two fusion techniques, support vector machines and matcher weighting, different fusion strategies based on the fusion of monomodal scores in several steps are proposed. The performance of ...

Hybrid Biometric Person Authentication Using Face and Voice Features

In this paper, a hybrid person authentication prototype integrating multiple biometric devices is presented. This prototype is based on several levels of abstractions: data representations, vectors and classifiers. Frontal face and text -dependent voice biometrics are chosen to authenticate a user. For each of the biometric feature, an extractor, a classifier and a simple negotiation scheme hav...
